    Emergency physician and ED leader

Has led emergency departments across several states and organizations, from freestanding EDs to Level 1 and 2 trauma centers.

    650+ units, multiple states

Co-built a real estate business leading property managers, contractors, partners and remote teams.

    Born on a national stage

The 10 W's began as a presentation for physician and advanced practice clinician leaders at the TeamHealth National Medical Leadership Conference.

    Practical. Applicable. Repeatable.

Every W comes with a field tool, a Monday Move and the 10 W Leadership Audit, so leaders act the same week.

    Why organizations invest in this

The resignation rarely begins with the resignation letter.

It begins in moments small enough to dismiss. An employee stops volunteering ideas. A high performer goes quiet. Someone starts doing only what is required. By the time the letter arrives, that person may have been leaving emotionally for months.

Surveys, committees, slogans and wellness apps don't fix that. The daily experience people have with their direct leader does. That is where the 10 W's work.

The opposite of engagement is not disagreement. It is disconnection.

    Shared language

One framework every leader can remember

Ten questions that work for a new charge nurse, a department chair, a plant supervisor or a CEO. No diagram required.

    Weekly operating system

Ten minutes before Monday, not another initiative

Leaders run the 10 W's as a weekly review. No new committee, slogan or app to roll out.

    Earlier warning

Hear the whispers before they become resignations

WHISPERS and WELL-BEING give managers weak signals while there is still time to act.

    Measurable

See the gap between intention and experience

The 10 W Leadership Audit compares how leaders rate themselves with how their teams rate the same 50 statements.

    Retention

    Protect your strongest people

The PACE Check finds burnout risk in high performers who still look fine from the outside.

    Any industry

The setting changes. The leadership problems do not.

Built in emergency medicine and tested leading real estate, business and remote teams.

    The framework

The 10 W's: ten places to look when something feels wrong.

The 10 W's are lenses, not a checklist. When a team starts to drift, they tell a leader where to look first. Pick what you're seeing, or open any W to see its field tool and this week's Monday Move.

      About Lindsey

"Your people do not need a perfect leader. They need a present, purposeful, and consistent one."

Dr. Lindsey DuguetPhysician · Leader · Speaker · Coach

Dr. Lindsey Duguet is an emergency medicine physician, leader, speaker, coach, entrepreneur and author whose work centers on one question: what makes people want to engage?

She has led emergency departments across multiple organizations and states, from freestanding emergency departments to major trauma centers. The 10 W's began as a presentation she prepared for physician and advanced practice clinician leaders at the TeamHealth National Medical Leadership Conference. Her leadership work has included building teams, improving operations, developing leaders, navigating organizational change, and creating cultures where people perform at a high level without losing the human connection that makes the work meaningful.

Outside of healthcare, Lindsey and her husband built a multi-state real estate business of more than 650 units, leading employees, property managers, contractors, partners and investors. That experience became the foundation of The Rules of Engagement: industries change, but the fundamental human questions of leadership do not.

She is also a wife, mother of three, mentor, artist, and enthusiastic builder of ambitious ideas, living with her family on a small farm that includes, among other animals, a zebra.

      Why the four-leaf clover?

Lindsey has found thousands of them, and often gives them to patients and the people she meets. It's on the cover for the same reason it's here: small, rare things are worth noticing.

      Questions

      Frequently asked

Is this only for healthcare organizations?

No. The framework was first built for physician and clinical leaders, and Lindsey has applied it leading teams in real estate and business. Any organization where people lead people can use the 10 W's. Examples and exercises are tailored to your setting.

      Can sessions be delivered virtually?

Yes. Keynotes, workshops, the 10-week program and coaching can all run virtually, on site, or as a mix.

How is a workshop or program customized?

Most engagements start with the free call and, for larger teams, the 10 W Leadership Audit. The weakest W's in your results decide where the session spends its time.

What happens on the free 30-minute call?

Lindsey listens to what you're seeing, looks at it through the 10 W's with you, and recommends a next step. If the best next step is simply the book, she'll say so.

Do you offer bulk pricing on the book?

Yes. Team packs of 10 signed copies are available below, and larger orders for leadership teams, conferences or onboarding programs can be quoted.
